The guidelines for writing reviews for DX

Where to post a review?

1. Go to My Account , click Review button on Item list in order detail page, and you will be directed to the submit review page;

2. On the product page, click the Create Review button, you can submit a review directly.

3. When your review is under processing, you can Edit or Delete the review. After the review has been approved, it can be edited if there is no Comment or mark.

 

Impression:

Please give us a few words (no more than 3) that describe the products the best.

1) No more than 3 words

2) Each word cannot be less than 4 characters

 

Title

Please input 10-100 characters 

You can choose to submit any one of: text/pictures/video reviews for one item or submit all three of them for one item at the same time. Title, Impression, Contentsare requested in each review. The more you provide the more chance you have of earning points.

Content:

When you review a product, please contain Pros and Cons for someone else in making an informed decision about the product while shopping for it. If you own the item,1 to 10 DX reward points per product will be added to your account when your review is listed as a way to thank you for sharing. Review points are effective immediately and usable for redemptions.

DX reads all reviews before posting them. We reserve the right not to post a review if it does not meet certain guidelines. Please read the review guidelines to ensure that your review is appropriate for posting on DX.

Review Posting Guidelines

We read all reviews before posting them and may reject some reviews if they don't follow the guidelines. Here are some of the things that can cause a review to be rejected:

- Offensive or abusive language. 

- Hyperlinks and URLs which lead to other stores and resellers or competitors. Please note this applies to forum posts also. 

- Price and availability changes very quickly, so please avoid inclusion of such information. 

- Posting of a question. Please post such queries in forums or support instead. 

- Replies to existing customer reviews. Please leave discussions to the forums. 

- Comparisons to competing brands or products of competing brands. 

- Criticism of DX's service (While we welcome a chance to serve you better, a review is hardly the place to speak about service, you're welcome to post such a comment in the forums or create a ticket instead). 

- Reviews for products that are out of stock or products that already been removed from DX.com.

- Reviews those are overly simple. Please be informative. 

- Any personal contact information such as e-mail address and phone numbers.

-Review for the same item has been posted by you before

Lastly, we do post all reviews, positive or negative, as long as you stick to these guidelines.

 

Image

Why share images?

Sometimes manufacturer supplied product descriptions and images are not enough. Here's your chance to help fellow customers learn more about how a product looks, behaves and performs. Think of customer uploaded image as reviews in pictures.

 

DX reward points for sharing your pictures

To thank you for sharing pictures with us and other fellow customers, 1 to 10 DX reward points per product will be rewarded to you when your pictures are approved for inclusion.

We review all uploaded pictures so please allow a couple of days for your pictures to show on the product pages. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure that your pictures are appropriate for inclusion.

 

What should I share?

Please share images that will help other customers. For example:

- Images that highlight a product feature (e.g. "See how tiny this micro USB jump drive is", "See the circuitry of this flashlight", "Look at the user's guide of this plasma ball.") 

- An image of you for your personal profile page Images showing someone using a product (e.g. "This is me with the flashlight", "This is how I use the binocular.") 

- Product mods (e.g. "See my PSP with the new transparent housing", "This is how I modded my mini speaker.") 

- Images that show how a product performs ("This is the beamshot of my newly ordered flashlight", "This is how my green laser beam looks like", "This is a picture I took with the keychain spy camera") 

- Images that give a sense of the size of the product ("The micro USB jump drive is as small as a quarter coin", "This trekking rod stands up at about my waist's height")

 

What shouldn't I share?

While we welcome images that show shortcomings of a product, please never post any image that falls into one or more of the following groups:

- Profane, obscene, or spiteful images, or any images with nudity 

- Images to which you do not own the intellectual property rights 

- Images containing contact information such as phone numbers, addresses, or URLs. You can watermark an image with copyright information (such as your name or nickname). 

- Images featuring availability, price, or alternative ordering/shipping information 

- Images featuring external Web sites, contests, or other solicitations 

- Any personal information about children under 13

 

Video

 

Found a cool use of a DX gadget you own? Show it off by a video. If you own the item, 1 to 10 DX reward points will be added to your account when your video is listed as a way to thank you for sharing. Review points are determined by DX staffs based on the overall quality of your video, and issued when your video is screened.

 

Video Posting Guidelines

- URLs or other cues which lead to other stores and resellers or competitors. 

- Price and availability changes very quickly, so please avoid inclusion of such information. 

- Criticism of DX's service (While we welcome a chance to serve you better, a video review is hardly the place to speak about service, you're welcome to post such a comment in the forums instead). 

- Videos for products that are out of stock and won't be available soon. 

- Videos that are overly short or non-informative. 

- Any personal contact information such as e-mail address and phone numbers.

Lastly, we do post all reviews, positive or negative, as long as you stick to these guidelines.

Tip:

Be sure you mentioned "DX" when you upload videos on YouTube (in the fields of title, description or etc.), this can help your video get approved more easily.
